Joint visit to RFE airports by GAC and SQ.

From October 13 to October 19, representatives of Singapore Airlines and GAC President, Edgar Vaynshteyn visited designated alternate Russian airports Khabarovsk and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

Goal of the visit was to make sure these two main diversion airports would be able to handle aircraft arrival and departure, and provide passenger service in case of the emergency diversion. GAC welcomed the chance to showcase its ability to coordinate diversion at these important airports.

Singapore Airlines and Mr. Vaynshteyn had numerous meetings with both airports management, ground crew service representatives, maintenance and engineering departments, performed terminal, waiting areas, customs and passport control surveys. As a result of this trip GAC has signed IATA Standard Ground Handling Agreement on behalf of its client airlines with PKC and is currently in negotiations with KHV airport on similar agreement. Singapore Airline representatives expressed their satisfaction with GAC abilities to coordinate diversion into these airports.
